PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Leading litigation firm Meredith Connell had aspired to build the best workplace in Aotearoa for New Zealand’s best lawyers. The new 5,500sqm office space has been inspired by New Zealand native bush environments including Auckland’s scenic Waitakere Ranges.

The design features includes innovative interior landscaping using lush raised gardens, native plants, mosses and photosynthetic grow lights to create an atmosphere of calm and tranquillity as well as a connection with nature. Internal bridges and stairways connecting office spaces and meeting areas have been designed in ways which add further visual interest to the building’s interior.

Agile’s Building Services and Acoustics design helped the base building to achieve a six-star rating under the New Zealand Green Building Council’s Green Star programme while MC has achieved its goal of becoming New Zealand’s first professional services firm to achieve WELL v2 Certification from the International WELL Building Institute. Achieving WELL certification required MC to meet standards measuring 108 different wellbeing features covering: Air, Water, Nourishment, Light, Movement, Thermal Comfort, Sound, Materials, Mind and Community.
